BELFAST FELLMONGERY DESTROYED.
FREEZING WORKS NARROWLY ESCAPE DESTRUCTION.

A serious lire broko out at the Belfast freezing works early this evening, and ihe llames, fanned by a strong north-cast wind, threatened to destroy the whole of the works. Several of the lire Brigade engi'ics Irom Chrislchurch have gone out to attempt to check the conflagration No further particulars arc at present available.

The liro at tlio Belfast Freezing Works was confined to the fellmongery and the wool store, tlio wind dropping just as the llames were approaching Ihe main buiiding, The fellmongery was valued at C6OOO. It was practically destroyed with the wool store. No details as to insurances aro as yet available.
Midsioht" • The (ire at tlio Belfast Freez mg Works was subdued by 10,30 p.m. Both the fellmongery and wool stores were totally destroyed, but the manager of the Company could givo no estimate, of loss to-night, The fire will not intcrferre with killing operations at the work*. The fellmongery was burned down exactly eight years aj{o to-night, and tlio present building wiis the one erected after that lire,
