The American House of Representatives, by 134 to 10tX omitted from the Shipping Subsidy Bill the clauses relating to fast services to the Orient, »nd also rejected the line from the Pacific Coast to Australasia. The whole Bill was rejected by 161 to 51, but on reconsideration, was adopted by 162 to 150 in an amended form.
