buy-Please allow me, as one of the parents vitally interested, to voice my displeasure at the treatment, meted out to the Tariki people by the two Boards that are supposed to see thai children attending school have decent playground facilities. The modem belief isthat a sound mind in a hcallhv body fa the ideal of edueaton, but the Taranaki authorities seem determined to dwarf the physical portion of the pupil's being. It is common talk that one of the School Coinmissoncrs knew twelve mouths ago of our intention to apply for a bigger playground, and it is hard to imagine why lie failed to see that we were notified of the Board's plan to let the reserve as it stood. The whole thing seems to have been rushed along without' (lie slightest reference to those most concerned, or to the well-beinjg ot the children; Let us hope that the authorities will do something practical, and not expect us to go and purchase with our cash a playground for the scholars. hi conclusion, I would like the School Commissions and the Education Board members to have their next pleasure outing under the same conditions as they have imposed on the Tariki school children playing the game wi'th on,o eye, and watching an ill-tempered bull with the other.—l am, etc., • PARENT.
