Tin: great success of tiie W extern Park bazaar, opened in Die Theatre Koyal \>n luesday afternoon but adds another to the list. When it was first decided many, months ago to hold a bazaar in 1-ebruary in order to rai.se funds lor carying yJ) the wok of making a rough borough reserve into a delightful pleasure-ground and up-to-date sports ground, the personnel of the committoo kit no room to doubt that the proect would be vigorously pushed on, and that the bazaar would open with a very line display of goods for disposal. The ladies' committee has amply justified the euuficnce placed in them. as can readily be seen by visiting the* Theatre Boyal thU afternoon or to-morrow afternoon,-to-nght or to-to-morrow night. Quite the feature of the display is the elaborate central stall, or collection orf six tables, under a gorgeous canopy. Here are Hie fan cy goods, liiK-ii work, doils. handkerchief and collar, and pottery si alts, ! packed with a assortment of goods for sale, and caleulaled to .suit all tastes and tlie smallest and biggest purses Under the circle are ■ well-lilled slabs on the one side, and sweets and toys on the other, with, a men's stall just at ,the entancc. Webster; handkerchief and collar, Miss Bealj pottery, Mesdames Htandi.sh ; Skinnier, ajn'd Alexander; pot [plant.-; and buttonholes, blisses Tardy and t.uiiiey; ice cream and salad, Mrs Berridge and the .Misses JWridgc (2); produce hid cookery. There was a good at tendance-during Tuesday afternoon, and also in the evening, the opening ceremony being performed at 3 o'clock by His Worship the Mayor. As previously mentioned, the bazaar and all its attractions will be open ! this afternoon and evening, and also on Thursday. |
