The Hon. T. K. Mac Donald was yesterday re-elected Chairman of the Wellington Harbor Board.
The election for the return of a North Island member on tho Postal Appeal Board resulted in tl.e election of Mr A. F. Wimsett (Wellington), who polled B:i9 voles against 3iS polled by Mr P. Morton (Auckland). - The Eltlnim "A.gus" announces that Mr C. A. Wilkinson has definitely decided to contest the Egoiont seat at the next general election. Ills sympathies run Willi the Opposition, though some features of the Government policy have liis support. Mr C. Carter, accompanied by Mrs Carter, leaves tins morning by the express for Wellington, en route to Christchurch, to attend the Methodist Conference. Mr and Mrs ILughson, of Rahotu, on a similar mission, join the train at Hawera.

Mr and Airs Wilkes will be missed by a large number of friends in New Plymouth, Mrs Wilkes having been a prominent member of St. Jlary's choir and invaluable in musical circles' and in assisting at local function::. We wish Mr Wilkes every success in his new cohere.
On Sunday next, the Hev. John Nixon will bring to a close his long ministry in Tarauaki. It is now eighteen years slice the rfcvereml gentleman lirst came to New Plymouth, and unostentatiously assumed the pastorate of the Queen-street Church. With as little ostentation he now seeks temporary retirement, his work, however, speaking for itself. In musical circles liia gifted family will lie genuinely missed. [Should Mr Nixon determine to spend the year's holiday granted him ill the south, we'hope the change and rest wili be beneficial to Mrs Nixon and himself.
