LABOR IN MUNICIPAL POLITICS
A FIGHTING PROGRAMME.
Dunedin, February 25.
_ The municipal platform of tho Poli-' tieal Labor League is as follows: (1) That a minimum wage of 8s per day be paid fop all unskilled labor ; (2) establishment of municipal milk supply ; (3) establishment of municipal markets for sale of fruit, vegetables, lisli and oilier necessaries of life; (I) all work undertaken by municipal!, ties to be executed by the Council without tho intervention of a contractor, Trade Union wages to be paid j (5) all committee meetings to be held during the evening; ((J) that the Coua. eil set up a special committee to which any aggrieved employee shall have j right to appeal ; (7) that the Council frame by-laws instituting a systematic ollicial canvass of tho whole city every six years; (8) that the Council cstabiisk public baths in a central position; (9) modernisation ofpublic conveniences for both sexes; (10) that all municipal positions be publicly advertised before fiupomtmonts are made; (II) that councillors bo paid for tiieir services.
