Per Press Association.

Wellington, February 21, Matters in regard to tho Seddon Memorial Fund were discussed to-day between members of tlie sub-committee of the main memorial committee and the Acting-Premier and the AttorneyGeneral. The Press was not admitted to the meeting. Tho position that had b?cn arrived at was that hundreds of local bodies had been circularised as to tho form the memorial should take. Tho committee proposed that it should be a Technical College. To financo this, it was proposed that the Wellington City Council should give the buildings and sito of tho present Technical School, valued at about £12,000, and that £BOOO should be raised by subscriptions. That would bo £20,000, vrhich, with a £ for £ subsidy from the Government, would bring Ihe total to £IO,OOO, the Government besides giving an area oE from one to three acres of land in tho city on which the college would be erected. It is understood that Ministers held out no hope of this laud being given. There is to be n meeting of the general committee next month to consider tho matter. It is stated that Hie amount contributed by the public to date to tho fund totals £IOO (sic). No special canvass has, however, yet been made.
