When shooting started at 600 yds in the Westland match, & howling nor'wester was blowing, with a glaring light, A few mihutes after starting, the wind disabled four targets and the scoring boards blew down the range. As a result the calculations of marksmen were npset, and breaks were common. The 200 yds is not yet complet ed. The best scores to the close of the day were Smith (Kaitangata) 91 Chapman (Tekapu) 90; Bulford (Karori) andGoldstone (Waimate) 88.
