The proposal to make Wellington the port of call for the Vancouver mail steamers in the event of the service being extended to New Zealand, waa discussed at a meetinp of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce, and a resolution waa adopted protesting against making it a condition in tho contract that Wellington must be the port of call. It was decided to forward a copy to the Acting-Premier.
