FARM AND DAIRY.
In conversation with a llawer.i Slur representative Mr J. V. AYyborn, secretary of the Riverdale Compiiuy, said he looked forward to an excellent season next year so far as choose was concerned. During the last few months the market has continued hardening, and the price now was at leapt, 3/ hotter than u was just a white ago. Canada was the colony's chief .competitor, and the stocks there w eve light. Asked if then; were any other circumstances to which the increajsod price flight he attrilmted, Mr Wyhoni 'suggested that, the tinned meat scare must have had a great >e!!'ect on the market—probably igNitcr than any other cause. Even at the company's store the inlluciire was felt, fur it wis . now selling just about one-tenth "' what was formerly disposed of. Mr YVyborn conveyed the impression thai in his opinion the value of the choose as a cominercia' commodity would keep tnc same, level this year as last, and he anticipated that many of the companies in the district would tur.i the r energies towards making choose. The Riverdale Company is paying out one shilling per lb for butter fat and a bonus is assured. The company has always paid a bonus. llof.'i ring <■ butter, Mr Wvbom remarked that those who sold outright had done 1-esl tnis vear. It was very hard to form any idea of tho probable state of the butter market as it was easily influenced.
