RIFLE SHOOTING.
At shooting nraclice at the range yesterday, Pvt." T. Marrett (Rifles) made the tine score of 101 out of a possible 105 at 200, 500, and 000 yds, the range totals being ;i4, ;!2, and 35 respectively, Pvt. A. Marrett made DO, and Pvt, Humphries (13. At 800 900, and 1000 yds, Pvt. A Marrett put on (18, the range totals being 31, 30, 31 respectively. The local volunteers competing at the Exhibition meeting leave on Thursday. The Rifles will be represented by Lieut.-Col. Okey, Col.-Sergt. Lister, Corp. Armitage and Bruce, Pyts. Banks, Harvey, Humphries, and A. and T. Marrett, and the Guards by Pvts. Hill and Nichols. Messrs Marsh (2) will represent the Mangorei Rifle Club. _ The Taranuki Rides will (ire the final competition for 2nd and 3rd class shots' trophies on Thursday and Saturday.
