THE THAW TRIAL
THE HEREDITARY INSANITY PLEA. NOT MAKING MUCH PROGRESS Received 7,1.9 a.m. New York, February C. Thaw's first medical witness was severely cross-examined regarding his medical knowledge and experience. Other witnesses were called in support of the plea of hereditary insanity. The Judge provisionally sustained the contention of Mr Jerome, counsel for the prosecution, that the evidence was irrelevant.
