A veriliet in accordance with the medical evidence, that death was due to apoplexy, was given.
Napier, January 25. At the inquest on the body of Mra Mary Simmonds, who died as a rcHult ot tlie«administration of chloroform, a verdict of death from syncope was returned, with no blame attachable to anyone.
A man named Thompson, employed at the Harbour Board quarry, met with a serious accident on Thursday, his foot being so badly crushed that amputation was necessary. The unfortunate mail wm treated at the Hospital, where he is making as much progress as can be expected.
