At two o'clockMiss Fox. an assistant teacher, who was ill in bed, saw a man in her bedroom. lie said he wanted money, and asked where it was. Miss Fox said she had none, but gave him her silver watch and chain. She promised to meet hint in the Royal Victoria Parknext Jrty with the money if he wou'.il leave the house. When Miss Vox told her tale to Miss Blake, the lady principal, it was at first discredited as the hallucination of a sick pers.in; but by the advice of ihe police Miss Wake kept the appointment made by Miss Fox. Wilson met her, and received an envelope handed bv Miss Blake. A policeman in hiding' then seized Wilson.
Fox was too ill to attend the court and Wil-on was remanded till the following say. In the case at Buttonon-'J'ronl, Mr Lee. manager of a furnishing company, was awakened early yesterday morn ing by his daughter, who heard a dog bark. The father and daughter went down-' stairs and saw a man who had been trying to open a safe running away, but lie was caught as lie was disip pcaring tliroti'.'h a window, and hauled back. The girl then held the burglar wlii e her father went for a policeman. The man, who said his name was Smith, was remanded at the ipoiice court.
