Wellington, January 21. •lust before mail train from New PlymoiitL steamed into Otaki station, a man who had been sitting on the platform of a carriage fell oil', lie was found shortly al'Ur on the track dead. There is no definite information regarding the man's identity, but lie is believed to have j been named J Ladficld or Hat lie Id. lie was a through passenger from Auckland
