The year's diamonds had realised C,i,fi07,717, an increase of CSO4S73. Li spite of the larger output the average price was higher. The net profit had amounted to C2.10:),53f1, an increase of .C 238,201, and .CI.SOO 000 had been distributed in dividends..' Referring to statements representing the J)e IJ'ers and kimberlov mines as nearly worked om. Colonel' Harris dee a red that they had actually in sight ground to a total ot over sixtyfour million loads, eiiougf? to last, at the present vale of production,'for eleven yilrs. and lvpre-enting an estimated output of .sixty four millions worth of diamonds. He had no hesitation in saying that Dc Beers would be producing diamonds on a scale at tee end of the century.
