The High Court reversed the Supreme Court judgment under which Mr Robertson, a barrister, was awarded £IOO damages for assault and forcible detention against the Terry Company. Robertson entered the wharf, but missing his steamer, demanded to be allowed to repass the turnstile without further payment. This was refused, anil he eventually forced his way out. The lull Court refused a new trial, and the company then appealed to the High Court, Which ruled that Robertson, on entering the wharf, was on private property, and could leave only bv complying with the company's rules.
