them of an elaborate imposture, and declares that their action in connection with"the' House of Lord's amendments to the Education Bill is deplorable and discreditable.

The Bishop of Manchester, in a letter to the Press, iexhorts the Lords not to abandon church schools m order to save Catholic schools. "The Times" declares the Education Bill is lost, unless the Earl of Crewe : announces very substantial concessions.
