Mr T. E. Stevens, who was transferred from the Inglewood railway station to .Palnierstoa jN'orth, has been promoted to the charge of the Midhirst station.
Warder J. Downes, of the New Plymouth gaol, returned on Saturday uisht from Clirisl church, where he has. been engaged at the prison's court at the Jixhibition, and in the erection oi his models. Constable L. Mclvor, of the Auckland police force, has been trasferred to .New i'lymoutli. Constable Mclvor holds the Auckland middle-! "eight amateur wrestling championship, and alao the Koyal Humane .Society's medal, which he was awarded some years ago 'for his bravery in rescuing, in company with Constable U. Sims (who was also awarded the medal), two women and a man from a burning boarding house in Wyndham street, Auckland.—N.Z. Herald.
