The result, with one small return to come, which cannot affect the result, I hut will probably increase Mr Lang's majority, is as follows: W. Lang 2001 G. Ballard 1280
Majority for Mr Lang... .1233 The figures for the 190 D general election were: Kirkbride Si!) 77, Stewart 2334.
Mr Massey made ft short spech, thanking the electors for returning an Oppositionist and a freeholder. The tremendous majority showed what the electors thought of the leasehold proposals of the Government. The election would have a wonderful influence in the councils of the country in connection with the land proposals.
