Mr Burgicss wrote that lie had enquired concerning the ccst of Lac Opunake ambulance. An amended account would be sent, omitting the cost of the shed for storing the ambulance. The Opuuake Town Board held that all the bodies that had promised to contribute must send their full quota, and any balance remaining was to be held by that Board to assist impecunious patients in their jcurnoy to the hospital. Mr Burgess thought that as the Hawera Board was agreeable to the proposal, the Taranaki Board should accept it.— The matter will be further considered at next meeting. The Hawera Board's secretary, in acknowledging a letter concerning patients from Die Hawera district, wrote that his Board "could not help thinking that many of the patients sent to your hospital by the New Plymouth doctors might have been sent back to Hawera. They would, therelore, be obliged to your Board if they would by circular notify the New Plymouth doctors that unless the case is serious all the patients belonging to this district must be sent to the hospital here."—Tho suggestion was adopted.
The now Board, composed of the same members, except that Mr J. H. Parker took Mr Cock's seat as the New Plymouth borough's representative, sat irnmediately afterwards. Mr Tisch was unanimously elected chairman.
On the motion of tho chairman, -e----conded by Mr McDonald, the Board decided that, provided a nurse could ba spared without impairing- the work of the Hospital, and when no other nurse is available, she be allowed to attend a private case, a charge of £2 2/ per week to be made for such services.
Speaking to tho motion, Mr O'Sullivaa said he would like to see the Board in a position to allow a trained nurse to go into the back districts. Mr Brown thought the charge might be reduced.
Tlie following tenders were accepted:—Groceries, G. G. Boulton; bread, C. E. Jeffries; meat, Sole Bros.; milk, R.' C. Clemow; c6al and wood, Westport Coal Co.;. undertaking, M. E. Clow; wines and spirits, Goldwater Bros.
