He undertook to recommend the Health Department to bear U.f the ccsi, tiie remaining half to be borne by the Btard6 engaging the medical man. It has been suggested as a fair of payment that Weiling'on and Wanganui should each pay two-fifths and Taranaki one-fifth of the cost. Tne Wanganui Board had about 3 fifth more school, than VVe'lington, but on the other hand the number of children was considerably less. Under this aii'angement the contributions to the respective Boards Avuuld be a maximum of ,£l5O for Wellington and Wanganui, and £75 fur Taranaki
Mr Monkhouse said tbat Taranakis proportion was but one-tenth, whilst it; contribution was a fifth.
