THE GAUMONT CHIIONOPHONE.
Theatre-goers were well entered for by the Stonlmm Morrison Co, at tke theatre last night. The programme submitted was undoubtedly one of tlie linest selection of animated pictures that we liave bad the pleasure of seeing m this town. Every picture sho.vn was new. 'l'liis enterprising company is evidently determined not to be outdone by anyone ; last evening's pictures are a selection of a large batch of films landed by them by the last '.Frisco mail, l'lie well staged and beautifully illuminated set shown drew many rounds of applause from the appreciative audience. Eyery picture was excellent. A " Detective's Tour of the World is a subject occupying 40 minutes on the programme. Tins is undoubtedly the linest of alt their pictures, and is alsj prettily tinted and liand coloured throughout. ■' The Whistling Bowery Boy" is a very clever chrouophone item; the air is a catchy one, and the picture very amusing. " A Trainee in Portugal" gave a very realistic glimpse of the quaint habitation m tliose parts.
