TO-DAY AND TO-MORROW. The weather promises to be propitious for tiie Taranaki Show, winch takes place to-day and to-morrow. 1 'l'iie judging commences at y a.m. this moriuiig. in the afternoon laerei will be a pony race, pony leaping cuiup-tition,. and Hunt Club com petition. 'lo-morrow will be "people's Day." Yesterday's trains brought up a good many exhibits. Most of the prominent South Taranaki horsebreeders wil. l be rc'piescnted. Amongst them are the following wellknown breeders :—Messrs A. Alexander (Normanby), F. A. Bremer (OUaiawa), F. Sylvester (Mauaia), J. D. Mitchell (Mauaia), the Hastie Estate (inaha), and G. I'. Moore tkai Iwi) • Their exhibits in themselves are worth coming a long way t„ see, including as taey do some ox tne finest specimens oi notsellesh to be seen in New Zealand, if not 1 m the whole of the culonies. Mr J. D. Coirigan, the successful sheep b"eeder, of Hawera, will be a large exhibitor. The South exhibitors ai'tj pleased with the carcfu: way in which the engine drivers handled the train on heway up but some a£ tlwm have a deep grievance with the authorities for supplying them with cattle tiu l*s for their horses instead of ho"scboxes, which were ordered.
