The new life infused into the Taranaki Agricultural Society of lati years is icttectcd iu the hugely in creased entries for the annual chow, which will bo held on the New Plymouth racecourse on Wednesday anc Thursday. The, entries are a record in numbers, and should also established a standard for quality. Farmers and breeders will doubtles> note and appreciate the improvement; which have made the shc'.v assume the proportions it should have reached years ago. Tiie policy of the Society in visiting the various centres of population j last winter has had the result of popularising the Society, and as a natural consequence a record attendance may be expected. Town and country people will find plenty te instruct, entertain, and amuse. The hunting and leaping competitions are likely to be exceedingly interest ing ,and all manner of amusements will be on the ground. There car, be no question thatf'given fine weather, this year's agricultural show is going to prove a record, and the Taranaki people are asked to swell the figures and give a deserving and energetic Society a bumper attendance. Special train arrangements have been made at excursion fares.
Exhibitors of pigs and dogs are again reminded that entries in each of these classes must be on the ground on both day. The judging takes place to-morrow.
