TARANAKI COUNTY COUNCIL
A special meeting of the Taranaki County Council was hchd uu Moilday. I'lesent; Cis. G. V. Tate Ichaiiman),- ilopson, George, Adlam, and Hill. Mr Roy, county solicitor, and Mr John Skinner, county engineer, were also present. 'The Council was in committee foi the greater part of the day, discussing matters pertaining to tue Tapuae contracts. Miyssrs Roy (solicitor), Skinner (surveyor), llarford 'contactor) took part in ihe discussion. Eycuiualiy it was decided that the courny lugincer, having reported to the Council that the contractor (Ml IS. llarford) is nut proceeding with the Tapuae Hill ie-foimation contact to his sati-faction, and that in his opinion die contrac or is unnecessary d>-layjng the work, this Council resolves mat notice be sent to the contractor dial if, at the Council's mcyting on December 3rd, the engineer makes a further similar report, the Council will engage worknien and take all -1 ops 10 complete* the contract, and wid deduct the cost of same, from any moneys payable to the contractor or recover ihe same by action ut law. TIIO resolution passed 011 November 5. determining the contract, was icscinded.
