YACHTING ACCIDENTS.
A LAD DROWNED. Per .Press Association.' Auck'and, November g. A fatal ace .dent took place at St. Heliers Bay to-day, a lad named Arnold F. Adeane being drowned. He was one of a yachting party of five, and was steering, when the tiller bnke and he was precipitated into the water. His body was taken from the water as it was sink.ng and artifie.al respiration was tried for three hours, but without effect.
Several narrow escapes from drowning also occurred in the harbour to-day, several yachts being capsized in consequence of the squally weather. In one case a father and hi* two dauhgiers were out in a sailing boat when the boat capsized and sank, leaving the top of the mast just out of the water. The father clung .0 the mast, while the daughters, neither of whom could swim, were kept afloat by their clothes until assist ance arrived.
