ROBBERY ON ISLAND STEAMER

£IOOO STOLEN. (Per Press Association). Auckland, November 8, On the voyage of the Navua boi tween Lauloka, 1* iji, and Suva, it was discovered that the steamer's aafo had been broken open and robbed of one thousand-pounds in cash. On' arrival here the police were communis cated with, and searched the steamer, and examined the officers and passengers. It is understood the affair is so far a complete mystery. The utmost reticence has been observed in connection with the affair.
