A POSTMASTER'S SUICIDE.

Bart Chitiy Dean, postmaster at Palmerston South, who natl come to Wellington to secure medical treatment and entered a private hospital ja»t evening, this morning was found dead in his room with his throat cut, a,'i ilie bloodvessels having been severed with a pen knife, he had been visited by a nurse a Jew minutes betore, and was then a.l rigiit. A Iricud of deceased s, who had known nini tor a long time, said Dean was a sober, steady man. His head had troubled him of late, and lattoily had required a good deal of attention. Deeeased had a wife, tnree daughters and oou son. Dr. lienry said that he had been attending deceased since tne 30th m-t. H.s nervous condition was unstable, and witness adv.sed that he should bfi watched. Jrla saw deceased' at about midday, the. previous day, and auvised his removal t'j a priyale liosp/tal, lus general de-> meanour then being quite rational,) Deceased had not exhibited any sui-. cidal tendency. The jury returned a verdici_that deceased committed suicide during a fit of temporary insanity,.
