WESTPORT ITEMS.
Per Press Association. Wcsipurt, November 3 The Westport Coal Company's out- ] put last week was 8641 tons. Messrs Craig. Stevenson and Biliet, proprietors of the Alpine mine at Lyell, have discovered some rich stone at No. 7 level. In connection with the criticism of the Westport Harbour Board administration, it is urged that 11 would be to the advantage o"f the port if one man were appointed to the dual position of engineer and secretary, as has been done in the case of several oilier harbour boards ip the colony.
