ERUPTION AT WHAKAREWAREWA.
Per Press Association. Rotorua, November 3. There were two eruptions at Whakaiewarewa at 11.30 last night, near Guide Bella's house, on the native reserve Mud and stones were thrown to a height of 300 feet. The stones ranged from the e'.ze of eggs upwards. The eruption lasted twenty minutes, and covered the roofs of the whares with mud and the side of the hill beyond the whares. Mud and stones weje thrown to a considerable distanco.
The geysers aro now quiet. The natives are much alarmed, and fear another eruption.
