WESTPORT HARBOUR BOARD.
IN SORE TROUBLE, | Per Press Association. | Westportj October 31. ] The Westport harbour Board has been the subject of a good deal oi criticism over various matters lately, chief among them being the saddling 'he larger vessels with the charges made for coal for bunker purposes, f'he agitation has taken the form oi an appeal to the Government to altei die constitution of the Board, so as 10 make it partially elective, the present being a purely nominee Jioard. It is pointed out that the i'.-al companies nave, or will have, ■iioitly, a much larger stake in the district financially than the Govern-
ment that they, the shipping and the the town interests are entitled to elect a representative Board Much adverse comment was expressel at a ■■statement by. Mr ' MaeKenzie, A1.i1.R., at the Board meetings that 1110 Premier had consigned to the
waste-paper basket the memorial on die question forwarded to him from a public meetig. Mr F. F. Munro, ■n a letter to the Press, hints that he will seek election to Parliament on the rirst opportunity if necessity occasions it, to ventilate the question on the floor •if the House.,
