A sensation liac been c&uscd in the district by a Maori boy being stock up by an armed man at the Waihua Hill, Itapier road, and relieved ot a horse, saddle, and bridle. The man was captured by the police on Sunday. Accused, wlio is 19 years of age, was armed with a lire-chambered revolver and a pea pistol, fully loaded. He attempted to draw on the police when arretted, but was disarmed. He declared he was proceeding to town "to make it hnm" and stick up single wayfarers as he met them, fciie waa remanded. Further developments'' are expected. A MAii MISSING LiTIB. (James Smith left a scrub cutting camp at W aikere, Motaka, last Thursday for a hotel three miles distant to cash a cheque, and has not since been heard of. The captured highwayman was in the vicinity at the time.
