CRICKET.
The North v. South Tliranakt Cricket match has been arranged to take place at Hawera on Otli November. This match is being played with a view of selecting the representative team to nroi; the English eleven. Mr E. Whittle, of New Plymauth, was in Hawera on Thursday as delegate from the local Association.
A match between Inglewood and Harrington road was played yesterday. Inglewood made 116 for 7 wickets, the principal scores being Croaibie 50 and Clegg 21. Carrington road knocked up 1(14 for the loss of live wickets, P. Robertson contributing !). Broome 28, S. MeEwen (not out) 68, ti. McEwen 20 (retired), Avery (not out) 15. Crombie hit hard for hia 56 and Stan McEwen gave a sound exhibition of batting.
