TARANAKI POULTRY SOCIETY.

ANNUAL MEETING. Tiie annual meeting of the Taranaki Poultry, Pigeon & Canary Society was held on Tuesday evening. The attendance was only moderate. Mr E. Griffiths (President) occupied the chair. The Secretary read the balance-sheet, which showed: cash in hand, 2/3 ; outstauding liabilities, £3 10s 4d; and plant value, £Bl 4s 6d.

The Chairman, in reviewing the year's operations, said the., year had been an uneventful one. Everything liiid worked very smoothly, Unfortunately, in connection with the late Show, the wet weather of the first day had greatly interfered with the receipts. The poultry exhibits wore reported to be particularly Igood from a quality standard. The number of entries was almost as large as thoso of the previous year. There had been a decided fulling oft' in pigeon exhibits. He was of opinion that the present year would be a good one for the t-ociety, as the annual meeting of the North Island Poultry Association would be held at New Plymouth during the Show. This would no doubt attract a number of exhibits. The Chairman referred to the excellent work doue bp the secretary (Mr E. P. Webster) and the committee. Mr Wclis.er had handed m his resignation, aud would be a very hard man to replace. Tho balancesheet did not shod' as mach as at the commencement of the year, but this was explained principally hy a d.'ir.tnuition in door receipts.
