Stocks of New Zealand beef on hand are light, and the market firm. Quotations: 33d and 2Jd for hind and lorcquarlers respectively. The hemp market is very firm with gteat demand for g.f.a.q., Wellington. Both on spot and October-De-cember shipments are quoted at £35 5, per ton.

Buyers are not keen to do business, and the cocksfoot seed market is consequently quiet. Bright 171b, clean diesscd seed, is quoted at 45/ per cwt. The butter market is quiet, and prices slightly, weaker. Buyers of butler are holding back, expecting prices 10 go lower. Choice Now Zealand brands arc quoted nominally at 116/ per cwt. New season's Australian makes are quoted at 118/, Danish 122/ and Siberian 108/ per cwt. The cheese market is firm and quiet. Canadian makes are quoted at 63/ per cwt.
