Claik has completed his contract for the Saunder's Hill deviation on the Kahui road. This contract proved much more difficult than was anticipated, as some enormous rocks wore encountered, and a good deal of blasting was required. The Rahotu Rifle Club commenced another competition for a trophy al their ritle range on Saturday. This trophy has to be won twice in success- | ion or three times at intervals to be- | come the property of any member. , Mr G. llughson won the first com- t petition on Saturday.
