Received 15111, 10.43 P m - London, October 15. 1 It is officially announced today thai the Government decided to appeal s against the West Riding judgment with a view to clearing up numerous points of difficulty at the earliest mur ment. Mr Asquith, addressing his constituents, said whether or not there was an appeal, or whether or not the ap--5 peal succeeded, nothing: could modify >he Government's intention to give legislative (ffect to the first principle of the Education Bill, namely, that public control must be absolutely unfettered and complete from the top to the bottom of all education given at the public charge in English elementary schools.
