J ['ROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. ' A rather pocular accident happened to a Ngairo resident the other day. ; He had been mustering sheep, and, being very hot, had taiken off his > boots and socks to bathe his feet in a stream flowing through the section. While listlessly dangling his feet In ' the pool he became, conscious of some- ' thing having seized hold of his foot, 1 and had some difficulty in extricating i it. When he did so he found that an eel had grabbed hold of his toes. Tin l size of the monster may be judged from the fact that three toes were entirely stripped of their flosh, and :t was some days before he could walk comfortably. Mr G. M. Brown returned from Christchurch last week with four more Ayrshire pedigree cattle from 'he now, famous" Sunnyln\)o herd; lb has also purchased a bull, but so confident are the Sunnyside managers of the beast's claim to championship honours that Mr Brown was persuaded to leave him until after the Chiistmas Show. ' The Factory Manager, Mr C. Robertson, informs me that they are taking over 1000 lbs more milk now than they were at the corresponding period of last year. The Annual Visit of the Inspector of Schools takes place on the 31st. Mr R, Morison, Agricultural .Instructor, visits the s c hool on Friday next. Saturday's rain did a power of good.
