Mr Haidane, Minister for War, ■peaking at Peebles, said if Keir Hardie or anybody else brought forward abstract propositions conflicting with Liberal principles, if he wished to Nationalise land, capital, or anything eise, Liberals would cross swords with him. If the Socialists wished to deny the right of private property, let them say so, and the Liberals wou'd take a square issue on that proposition. Personally, he was not afraid of Liberals degenerating into Socialists. SPEECH BY LORD LANSDOWNE. SOCIALIST LABOURITES CONDEMNED. Received 7th, 5.4 p.m. London, October 6.
