libel ACTION dismissed. SERIOUS CHARGES SUBSTANTIATED. Sydney, October C. The jury in the N'orton-H&ynes case were locked up for seventeen hours. By agreement it «u arranged that a majority verdict should be delivered. The jury found that Haynes's charges were substantiated as follows: —Wife beating, unanimously; that Norton became possessed of "Truth' by fraudulent means, nine to three; blylfm.ilinft, ten to two; incitement to erime, nine to three; Grohns' death, ten to two. The Judge, addressing Haynes, "xou are acquitted." SENSATIONAL DEVELOPMENTS EXPECTED. ATTORNEY-GENERAL CONSIDERING MATTERS. Reeeiyed 7, 4.48 p.m. Sydney, October 7. Sensational developments in the Norton case are expected to-morrow, The Attorney-General is perusing the depositions, and Haynes also eontemplates taking steps independently of the Crown. GROHN'S BODY EXHUMED. NO SKULL FRACTURE DISCLOSED.
