SWIMMING CLUB.
The annual meeting of the. New Plymouth Swimming' Club lapsed for want of a quorum on Monday night. At die appointed hour there were four member* present, and a few more dropped in during the next half-hour. Then the meeting adjourned U'l Wednesday night, the members present guaranteeing to bring a better muster.
There is no reason for such a lack of interest. The club stands in a sound financial position, with a good credii in hand. The balance-sheet to be submitted shows a credit of £$ 16/5 at the commencement of last year. Subscriptions amounted to £3 7/6, do'nations £(1 , nominations and acceptance fees £5 1/, gate lakings (two meetings) £l4 8/cj, tickets sold £5 1/6, Waitara regatta cheque (A. V. Stohr /•5 5/. On the expenses sido appear: Prize money £lB 16/, advertising ,£8 19/cj, Borough Council (10 per cent of gates) ,£1 18/, subscription to N.Z.A.S.A. £1 1/, gratuity to bathkeeper £2, printing rule books, etc., £2 7/6, and other smaller i ems. The assets are : Cash in hand and in bank £6 4/0, and the only liabilities an accounc of 5/6.
