TARANAKI RIFLES.
The Morris tube competition ended on Saturday night. The senior competition was won by Mr C. .Buchanan, a honorary member ; the junior by Pte. Kitson. The Shooting Committee have arranged the following competitions, commencing on 25th October Ist Class, —Kanges 200 and 500, 500 and UUO, 1500 and 700 yds j 7 shots at each range; two optioual sighlers. Prize, Mr Murton's irophy. Three competitions ; all to count. 2nd Class—lianges and conditions as for lirst class Prize, Lieut. Lever's trophy. 3rd Class.—Conditions as for previous classes. In addition to the trophies, the following anuunuition prizes will be given at each competition, from the tund initiated by Mr Govett;—One packet to highest scorer in each class at each range ; two packets to highest aggregate scorer in each class at each competition.
