THE BANK BURGLARY.
AMERICAN CRACKSMEN SUSPECTED. Received 25th, 11.4 p.m. Evidently two or more were engaged in the attempt to burgle the English and Scottish Bank, despite the fact that the robbers had to traverse a considerable length of roof in order to reach the bank and make the electric connection. The police are without a clue. Colour is lent to the theory that American cracksmen took a hand by the statement that three well-known criminals es caped prison at the time of tit 'Frisco earthquake and landed ; n Sydney within the last fortnight.
