A TRIVIAL CHARGE.
Per Press Association. Wellington. Sept. rubor 24. One of the masters at Te Arr. school was today charged wi.h having assaulted a h-.y by beating him with a cane. The charge «... laid by the lad's father. The < viden. •■ showed that the boy had reins, d to complete a task when kep; in, and had amused himself by annoying the master. The magistrate said if the boy's father objected to corpora! punishment, he should send the 'ad to a school where it whs not inflicted on unruly pupils. The information was dismissed-
