YOUNG WOMAN CHARGED WITH MURDER. Per Press Association. Wellington, September 24. An inquest was he'd to-day on the. body of an infant found containing limewater, sallfandcream ol tartar, at the rear of Mawson's confectionery premises, and concerning which Marion Mary Emmens, alleged to be mother of the child, is charged with murder. The medical evidence was to the effect that .he child was born alive, that the caus* of death was fracture of the skull, thai the child was dead when placed in the barrel, and that the fracture of the skull must have been caused by vio'ence. A verdict was returned that ihe child was born alive, neglected by its mother, and met its death by violence, but how the violence was applied there was no evidence to show.
