Some of Ihe older settlers say they never had such a splend'd spring before. The Hall company intend holding a Basket social on the 3rd of next month. In November we are to have a grand Masquerade and Fancv Dress litif.
Socials and Balls are a'l the g< at the present . We have 1 > take ad vantage of tin; fine weather, and gci in as much amusement as we can.
Several gangs of men have gone into the backblncks to work on the co-operative works and more are to follow. Most of ih'-m are going en to' the Mok'i Road, towards Whangamomoiia, =0 we imy ye: see this road opened through to Uruti. It is t> be hoped that the track will be kept in better order in t'te future than it has been dining the last few months. Fancy a backblock track being lert for six months without a man to clear away slips or do any repairing whatever. It is easy to imagine what state the road has get into.
