On Thursday evening, Mr Joseph Lawn, who was going d«nn tu Mi Burgess' place aher dark, met with a very painlul accident. As Mr Lawn was opening the gate leading- to Mr Burgess' property, it creaked, and frightened the horse, which bolted, and Mr Lawn's efforts to stop the animal, he was knocked down, with the result that his shoulder was put out. Mr C. Binnie brought him up i, the store and found the doctor had gone, so they wired at once through to Tataraimaka, and found he had reached that point, so the doctor turned round and met Mr Lawn at Okato, »'hit,;er he had been conveyed. The horse got clear of the trap and harness, and galloped along the main road and thence down Stent road, where he was pulled ujj.
