TEN THOUSAND LIVES LOST. 000 FISHING BOATS LOST. ACTIVE RELIEF MEASURES. Received 23rd, 4.41; p.m. Hongkong, September 22. Latest particulars concerning the disastrous typhoon at Hongkong state that ten thousand lives ewere ion. The increased death roll was due to the of the whole fishing lleet tf six hundred junks. Active measures are be.ng taken for the relief t.f the sufferers. The Norddeutscher Lloyd Company has given six thousand marks to the relief fund, and Chinese at San Francisco cabled ten thousand dollars.
