The " Lily Minstrels," whose entertainment, at the opening of tjie new lown Ifall last December waa so successful, made their second bow to the public last week, and were well reeeiycd. A feature of the shosv was the splendid orchestra. Keep it up "Lilies." loa've doing all right. With two shows to wipe £SO oft' the hall debt takes some beating. The Saturday night dancing class in the hall continues to be well patronised, and as every little helps; the hall trustees should (;e out-of debt. Football is dead. The cricketers wakon on Wednesday evening, when the annual meeting is to be held, Hope to hear of our chaps winning the onp they haye twice made a bold bid for. Last Thursday, Miss Bestrand and Mr John Burko were hymenially hound, Tho occasion gave scope for the " tin-can brigade," who, making night hideous, had ii right royal time. -The counle were the recipients of mucJl'r'lCO aii<J pi^ny and good wishes from admiring frieiicls. Tho Clifton L/Oiijjty Council have plenty of backbone, as proved by tbpir backing-down over Black's motor engine paying toll. Took a lump sum instead. This makes climb down number two. Precedents are bad form!
